Darren Dailey

Board Chair

President and Artistic Director President, Jacksonville Children's Chorus

Darren Dailey came to Jacksonville in 2006 and since then has been shaping The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus into a world-class organization. Under his artistic leadership, The Chorus has grown to serve over 1,500 First Coast children annually with five core performance choirs, multiple satellite rehearsal locations, and outreach throughout the region. A nationally recognized clinician and conductor, Mr. Dailey has served as guest conductor in Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center and the ACDA Honor Choir in Seattle. He has presented workshops for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians, Organization of Kodály Educators, American Choral Directors Association, and Music Educator’s National Conference. As the founding artistic director of the Boston Children’s Chorus, Mr. Dailey and his chorus performed at the 2004 Democratic Convention, and appeared as the host chorus on the television special, “Raising the Roof: A Celebration of the Life of Martin Luther King, Jr. in Song,” broadcast nationally on WGN, and performed internationally in Japan. He is the 2014 recipient of the Reinhold Foundation Outstanding Executive Director Award and currently serves on the Ӱ Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts Advisory Board. Mr. Dailey was honored in 2017 by Galaxy Music to create a Choral Series specifically for children’s voices. Under his leadership, the JCC received the 2017 Diversity and Inclusion Award for the State of Florida. Mr. Dailey has produced four recordings: “Come and Rejoice” (Cantate), “Sing!” (Boston Children’s Chorus) and “Voices for Voices” (Jacksonville Children’s Chorus). His work may also be heard on “A Boston Christmas” (Back Bay Chorale), “Building Bridges” (Mystic Chorale) and “Amani Celebration,” a limited-edition compact disc of holiday songs from 15 children’s choirs to benefit African children who have been orphaned because of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. In 2019, Mr. Dailey was honored with the distinguished Alumni Merit Award by Westminster Choir College. In 2020, Chorus America presented Darren with the Brazeal Wayne Dennard Award in recognition of his dedication to diversity and his contributions to the African American Choral Tradition. The Jacksonville Children's Chorus, under Darren Dailey's direction, achieved significant recognition in 2022, winning the American Prize for Choral Performance. Furthermore, in the same year, the ensemble was bestowed with the David C. Brotemarkle Award for their outstanding presentation of 'Songs of the Sunshine State.'

Susan serves as President & CEO of ruckus, an integrated design and communications firm she founded in 2006. For more than 15 years, the ruckus team has provided expert counsel and award-winning work for many local, regional, and national brands in healthcare, education, real estate development, and social services. A Jacksonville native, Jacksonville University graduate, Jacksonville Business Journal "40 Under 40" awardee, and Leadership Jacksonville (Class of 2010) graduate, her volunteer service and commitment to being a force for good also benefit many local nonprofit institutions including Guardian Catholic School, Ritz Chamber Players, Jacksonville Dance Theatre, and Rotary Club Jacksonville.

Meaghan Atkinson

Vice President Sustainability, Crowley Maritime Corporation

Meaghan Atkinson is Vice President of Sustainability at Crowley where she leads Crowley’s sustainability journey, driving action to decarbonize across the company’s operations and value chain to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. As vice president, she spearheads the company’s efforts to build partnerships across its stakeholders and value chain to fulfill Crowley’s sustainability commitments. She is also responsible for driving safety culture, business continuity, environmental compliance, and facilities management. In her prior role as Director of Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs, she led the creation of the company’s first greenhouse gas inventory, leveraging Salesforce’s Net Zero Cloud and played an integral role in publishing Crowley’s first sustainability report. Prior to joining Crowley, she spent more than 15 years managing sustainability and environmental programs for organizations including CSX Corporation and the State of Florida Department of Military Affairs. Her industry leadership includes expertise in sustainability strategy and best management practice, community engagement, environmental regulation and management, public reporting and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building certification. She holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in marine sciences from Stockton University.

Dee Brown

Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director, Ӱ

Dee Brown currently serves as the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director for Athletics Strategy and Innovation at Ӱ. In this senior leadership role, Brown reports directly to the Vice President of Athletics and is responsible for shaping and implementing long-term strategic initiatives amid a rapidly evolving intercollegiate athletics landscape. His portfolio includes oversight of performance metrics, operational efficiency, and cross-functional projects that elevate the student-athlete experience and support competitive excellence. He also serves as the primary sport administrator for the women’s basketball program. Since joining Ӱ in 2021 as Executive Director of University and Athletics Relations, Brown has quickly ascended through leadership ranks, earning successive promotions in 2022, 2024, and most recently in 2025. His cross-campus influence extends beyond athletics, serving on advisory boards for the Cost Honors College, Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare, Stein College of Fine Arts, Davis School of Business & Technology, GRIT Sports Performance and others. He is a Tri-Chair of the University’s FUTURE.MADE Campaign and sits on the Board of Trustees at his alma mater, The Bolles School. Additionally, Brown contributes his expertise as a consultant for Zawyer Sports and The UPSHOT League, a professional women’s basketball organization— a mission-driven movement centered on opportunity with the commitment to uplift, elevate, and empower women athletes, coaches, front-office personnel, and young women. Brown brings over a two decades of NBA, WNBA and G League front-office and coaching experience, including roles as Vice President of Integrated Development & G League Operations for the L.A. Clippers and General Manager of the Agua Caliente Clippers. He also held coaching and player development roles with the Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, and Orlando Magic and Head Coaching positions with the Orlando Miracle (WNBA) and San Antonio Silver Stars (WNBA). His coaching career began after a standout 12-year playing career in the NBA, where he averaged 11.1 points per game over 609 appearances and famously won the 1991 NBA Slam Dunk Contest as a rookie with the Boston Celtics. A proud alumnus of Ӱ (’90, ’24), Brown earned his degree in Mathematics and Computing Science. As a student-athlete, he helped put JU on the national stage before being drafted 19th overall by the Celtics in 1990. Brown and his wife, Tammy, have four children, including Anakin, a freshman on the JU Men’s Basketball Team, and Lexie, a Duke graduate and 2018 WNBA first-round pick who won the 2022 WNBA Championship with the Chicago Sky and currently plays for the Seattle Storm.

Jeffery Clements

Chief of Research, Jacksonville City Council

Jeff Clements, born in Kentucky and raised in New Jersey, earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia in 1981 with a double major in American Government and Philosophy. He earned his Master of Public Administration degree at the University of South Carolina and retired in 2025 after a 43-year career in local and state government in South Carolina and Florida. He was employed by the Jacksonville City Council's Research Division for 35 years, the last 22 of which as Chief of the division. Mr. Clements and his wife are enthusiastic patrons of the visual and performing arts and have sung in church choirs and community choruses for decades.

Stephanie Cost

First Lady of Ӱ

Stephanie Cost serves as the First Lady of Ӱ. In addition to her role as an ambassador representing the University on campus and in the community, Stephanie helps lead initiatives to improve student life, enhance campus facilities, and increase community collaboration. She is a member of the Advisory Boards of the Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts & Humanities, Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, and Career Management at the University, and speaks regularly on campus to student and staff groups regarding timely professional development topics. In addition to her University responsibilities, Stephanie is a member, Legacy donor, and immediate past chair of the Governance Committee for the Women’s Giving Alliance. She is also a member of the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2015, a sponsor of the Wolfson Children’s Hospital Women’s Board Florida Forum, and supporter of the Jacksonville Symphony, The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, Jacksonville’s Museum of Science and History, The Women’s Center of Jacksonville, and Gateway Community Services, as well as many other nonprofit organizations. Stephanie is also a member of the Ronald McDonald House Jacksonville board of directors. Prior to moving to Jacksonville, Stephanie was a business owner, volunteer and philanthropic leader in Philadelphia. She formed and chaired a philanthropic women’s group which sponsored fundraising events for local grassroots organizations that lacked formal development support. Stephanie was a board member and dedicated volunteer at Wings for Success, an organization which empowers women reentering the workforce through apparel, advice and advocacy. Stephanie also founded an interior decorating business in Philadelphia and her previous professional experience includes positions at two FORTUNE 500 companies: in corporate purchasing at Carrier Corporation and in market research for Eastman Kodak Company. She graduated summa cum laude from Immaculata University (PA) with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. In addition to her University and civic pursuits, Stephanie enjoys golf, piano, photography, reading and traveling.

Madelynne Eash is a senior graduating from the College of Arts and Sciences with three majors in Political Science, History, and Sociology. While on campus, Maddie has been involved in several social science honors societies, notably Green Key. Her favorite memories at Ӱ include studying in the new Joan Carver student resource room and attending athletic games. After graduation, she is moving to Washington, D.C., to pursue a Master of Arts in Political Science. Maddie is excited to help provide insight and grow the College of Arts and Sciences.

Doug has over 30 years of experience in the high technology industry with a focus on executive management and strategic planning. He has worked with companies ranging from Silicon Valley start-ups to Fortune 50 to Venture Capital and has served as in various Senior Executive roles, as CEO, and as a Board Member in multiple companies.<br/><br/>Doug led the launch and growth of a global internet security services company from start-up to acquisition, captured over 1,000 clients on three continents and gained industry recognition as a security company market leader. Successfully sold the company to Getronics., a global IT Services Company headquartered in Amsterdam As Global Cyber Security Services Delivery Leader Doug successfully defined and implemented multinational internet security business plan, service and solutions strategy, and operational delivery coordination for a major global IT services company. As Managing Director at a venture capital firm Doug led investment strategies for the cyber security market and served on Board of Directors of two security companies. Doug was a founding member and served as Vice Chairman of the Internet Security Alliance (www.isalliance.org) based in Washington DC; served as Executive Board member of the I4 (internationally recognized Global 500 CISO forum); served as Visiting Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University’s CERT/CC; participates as a speaker and panelist at security industry conferences; has testified before Congress on cyber security trends; and been interviewed by CNN Headline News on the convergence of physical and cyber security threats. Prior to joining Emtec Doug served as Vice President Cyber Risk Services at enterprise legal and cyber solutions provider UnitedLex.

John I. Guy

Administrative Judge

Judge Guy was appointed to the Circuit Court bench in December 2015. He currently serves as the Administrative Judge for the Fourth Judicial Circuit Family Law Division. He is a member and past President of the Florida Family Law American Inn of Court, and a member of The Chester Bedell American Inn of Court. Judge Guy is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Judicial Relations Committee, and the Fourth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee. Judge Guy serves as faculty for the Florida Judicial College, the Florida Conference of Circuit Court Judges and the Florida College of Advanced Judicial Studies. Judge Guy has also presented at the Annual Marital and Family Law Review Course, sponsored by the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar and the American Association of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), as well as the AAML Institute. In June 2023, Judge Guy was awarded the Jacksonville Bar Association’s President’s Award. Judge Guy serves his community by speaking and volunteering at local schools and his church. He is also a mentor with the Take Stock in Children program and was honored as the 2021 Take Stock in Children Mentor of the Year. Judge Guy taught a Trial Practice course as an adjunct professor at the Florida Coastal School of Law from 2002 to 2019.

David Healy

David George Healy is a retired college and university administrator who also served as an adjunct professor and part time coach. Mr. Healy was educated at The Choate School (1968), Lawrence University (B.A. 1972) and The College of William and Mary (M.B.A. with honors 1976). He began his career at William and Mary where he was the Assistant Director of Budgeting and then the Director of Auxiliary Enterprises. From there he moved to the University of Maryland- College Park where he served for three years as the Staff Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration. Beginning in 1983 and continuing to his retirement in 2017, Mr Healy served as Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer for five different institutions: Goucher College, Williams College, Milton Academy, Mount Ida College, and Jacksonville University. While at Williams, he also served concurrently as Treasurer and Secretary to the Board. At Mount Ida College he also served concurrently for three years as Vice President tor Development and Alumni Affairs. At both Milton and Mount Ida College he served part time as a baseball coach. At Mount Ida College, he was an adjunct Associate Professor of Business Administration for 10 years and was the only adjunct professor to ever receive the outstanding teaching award in the School of Business. At both Goucher College and Mount Ida College, he also served terms as acting President of the institutions. Mr. Healy was also active in professional development for his field. He was President of The Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers, and on the governing Board of the National Association of College and University Business Officers. He was an accreditor for several institutions and also did consulting work for others (Washington and Lee University, Bucknell University, Dickinson College etc.). Mr. Healy has also served on corporate and institution boards, including: United Educators Insurance, Tuition Exchange Inc.,SCUUL Ltd Insurance of Bermuda, MultiBank of Western Massachusetts, and as board member and Chair of the Board for EXPLO, a national summer program for gifted and talented, grade 6-12 students headquartered in Boston. He has been active as well in volunteer charitable outreach having served on the boards of: the Salvation Army of Baltimore and, currently, St Johns County in Florida, The Berkshire Museum, The Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the Advisory Committee to the School of Fine Arts of Ӱ, the Mountain School of Vermont, and others. His major expertises are in financial and endowment management, strategic planning, construction administration, human relations, general administration, legal and insurance matters, team building and technology management. Mr. Healy is married to Denise Pham Healy, has three adult children and two grand children. He and his wife have resided in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida since 2015. Interests include travel, reading, and study of history.

Mike Hightower

Mike joined the JEA Senior Leadership Team in 2015 as Vice President of Governmental & Legislative Relations. He retired as Chief Public and Stakeholder Affairs Officer in 2019. Prior to 2015, Mike also served 16 years on JEA’s Board of Directors and served two two-year terms as JEA Chair. In 2014 Mike Joined Holland and Knight International Law Firm as a Senior Policy Advisor. Mike joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida in 1981 as the Director of Governmental and Legislative Relations. In 1985, he was named the Vice President of Governmental and Legislative Relations. Mike worked closely with key political leaders in the federal, state and local government, after three decades of a successful career at Florida Blue; he retired in 2014. In 1977, Mike was appointed by President Carter as Florida’s USDA State Director of the Farmers Home Administration at the age 32, becoming the youngest State Director in the history of the Federal Agency. From 1976-1977, Served as Direct Director, State of Florida Comptroller. 1976 Mike Served as Candidate Jimmy Carter’s North Florida Regional Campaign Coordinator. 1974-76 Mike served as Duval County School Board’s first Accountability Design Specialist. 1972-74 Mike taught Civics and American History at Northwestern Junior High School Jacksonville, Florida 1967-1970, Mike served in the United States Air Force. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he has dedicated his time, talents and leadership to numerous boards and commissions over the last 49 years. Mike’s present civic service includes the following: President, Five STAR Veterans Center, Trustee Emeritus, Florida House, Florida’s Embassy in Washington, D.C. Our JAX; Board Member, Florida Ounce of Prevention; Board of Directors, International Linemen Rodeo Museum; Board of Directors, Florida College System Foundation. Previous to retiring from JEA, Mike served as Chairman of the following Civic and Trade Associations: United States Naval Academy; Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce; Florida Governor’s Mansion Foundation; Florida House, Florida’s Embassy in Washington DC; Florida Association of Professional Lobbyists; Associated Industries of Florida; Florida Insurance Council; Florida News Service; Florida College System Foundation; Jacksonville Public Library Foundation; Jacksonville Political Leadership Institute; Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce’s JAXBIZ; Duval County Republican Party, and the Cecil Field Base Closure Commission. In 2006, Florida’s Legislative Leadership appointed Mike to the Florida Energy Commission. The nine-member panel was charged with making recommendations to the Florida Legislature on ways to secure Florida’s energy future. In 2010, Florida’s legislative leadership appointed Mike to the Public Service Commission Nominating Council, charged with interviewing and recommending qualified candidates for gubernatorial appointment to Florida Public Service Commission. Mike, a 1972 graduate of Ӱ, resides in Jacksonville with his wife Sue, an Elementary Special Education Instructor. The couple has one son, Parker, daughter-in-law Maggie and a granddaughter, Gracie. Mike is a third term 2003, 2005, 2007 University of Florida Graduate School Adjunct Instructor, “Principals of Lobbying”.

Nicole Iannone Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, Psychology - JU

Nicole is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Ӱ. She specializes in Social Psychology and studies a wide variety of topics in social psychology. Some of Nicole’s research has examined close relationships, social media, belonging, and how media exposure may reduce prejudice. She teaches a wide variety of courses in the College of Arts and Sciences such as Introductory Psychology, Social Psychology, Personality Theories, Close Relationships, and more.

Naomi Jackson

CEO, Goodwill Industries of North Florida

Naomi Jackson’s professional experience includes more than 20 years in corporate and nonprofit organizations, where she has worked in the areas of internal audit, accounting & reporting, and several human resources functions. She also has experience in information technology where she has spearheaded several strategic IT projects, including accounting and HRIS system implementations and various process improvements. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University, and her Master’s degree in Forensic Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. She has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida since 2008. Naomi enjoys spending time volunteering in the community and currently serves on the advisory boards for the Ӱ College of Arts and Sciences and the Flagler College Women of Vision. Naomi has a true passion for working with communities and in partnerships to improve the quality of life for under-represented populations. She is able to utilize her diverse skill set and background to add value and provide strong leadership across a variety of functional areas. Her mantra, quoted from Peter Drucker, is “…leadership is lifting a person’s vision to high sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations”. “I am so excited to join the executive leadership team at Goodwill. I have been a Goodwill donor and a shopper for many years, and now I get to learn the business from the inside out and contribute to creating employment opportunities and helping individuals in our community succeed beyond what they thought was possible for themselves.

Emily Kiker

Student Representative

Emily Kiker is a junior majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Throughout her time at Ӱ, she has conducted over 250 hours of chemistry research under Dr. Galinato, focusing on assessing the thermodynamic factors involved in the binding of nitrite to manganese myoglobin. She currently serves as the president of the JU Medical Professionals Society, an organization that provides professional development and volunteer opportunities for students pursuing healthcare careers. Additionally, as a member of the Green Key Honor Society, she represents the top 1% of JU students in academic excellence and leadership. She also spent two years working with Jax Career and Design Exploration, contributing to the growth and optimization of the Berwick Career Closet. Emily is excited to join this board and share the perspectives of students in the College of Arts and Sciences.

An alum of Ӱ, Frank Mantay ’88 began his financial services career in 1991 after serving as a US Naval officer. Frank and his team (Mantay & Company) serve the wealth protection and growth needs of their clients from two Florida office locations, Jacksonville and Daytona Beach. With steady growth and development over 30 years, Frank is a recognized leader within his field having achieve several milestones with Prudential both in management and as a financial adviser. Frank is married to Carmen Gloria Mantay. They have two daughters who have successfully launched onto their careers. Enjoying gardening, hiking, kayaking, trap shooting or a relaxing day at the beach is Frank’s favorite form of recreation. He can also be found serving the community and faith through his church.

Ken Melchiorre

Vice President, Jacobs Federal & Environment (F&E) Project Services

Ken leads the Project Services team, which supports the F&E $1.5 billion environmental and buildings/infrastructure design, design/build, construction, and facility business. His team provides matrixed professional resources for procurement, contracts management, estimating, pricing, project controls, quality, project delivery, and risk management to the F&E sales and operations teams. Ken joined CH2M in 2000, now Jacobs through an acquisition, following a 23-year Naval career, which included 10 years as a Navy Civil Engineer Corps Officer, nearly 4 years as a Surface Line Officer, and 10 years as a construction mechanic Seabee. Following his Naval career and before his current position with Jacobs,, Ken worked as a facility manager for the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, Cecil Field Airport, Florida; and with CH2M as a Naval base operations and maintenance (O&M) contract project manager for Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville and USMC Blount Island Command, Florida; a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) program manager; and the Vice President/Business Unit Director for the CH2M US Federal Operations and Maintenance and Contingency and Logistics Business Unit responsible for a $12 billion federal contracted programs. Ken has an MBA from Jacksonville (FL) University; a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University; and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Idaho. He is a registered professional engineer in Florida.

Daniel Moseley Ph.D

Data Scientist | Mathematician, Valtech

With over 26 years of experience as a consultant for some of the largest engineering companies in the U.S., Dr. Dulay is a technical expert in water resources studies, analysis, and evaluations with significant responsibilities in data collection and hydraulic modeling of water, wastewater, storm, and riverine systems for municipal, commercial, industrial, and military clients. He has expertise in planning and design services with a focus on system simulation and data analytics, statistics, and public participation. He is also a professor engaged in research in the socio-economic impact of infrastructure at Ӱ, where he has been the advisor to 16 graduate students. He is active in the local community by serving on various boards. To date, he has 32 publications and 12 invited talks.

William A. Stanly, III

Managing Member, Blackwater Capital

William A. Stanly, III (“Trip”) is Managing Member of Blackwater Capital, a real estate development company focused on commercial and residential investments throughout Northeast Florida. Prior to founding Blackwater, Trip spent nine years in corporate real estate with both Regency Centers (leasing and investment sales) and CSX Real Property (leasing and corridor development). Trip holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Class of 1993) and a Master of Arts in Real Estate from the University of Florida (Class of 1998). Trip has been involved in multiple community organizations; St. Johns Presbyterian Church (elder and trustee), Riverside Avondale Preservation (past chair), Downtown Design Review Board, Greenscape of Jacksonville, Housing Partnership of Northeast Florida, Rail Yard District Council, and Urban Land Institute North Florida.

Associate Professor of Biology and Marine Science

Dr. Natasha Vanderhoff is a field biologist, educator, and avid birder. She enjoys sharing her passion for the natural world with her students and is very excited about their new Biodiversity, Ecology & Conservation major. Dr. Vanderhoff is a broadly trained biologist with a specialization in behavioral ecology. Since her discipline is not specific to one type of animal, she is able to mentor students with a variety of interests and most of her projects involve active participation of students. Dr. Vanderhoff loves figuring out what animals are doing and saying, and her field sites range from JU’s campus to city parks, to the jungles of Ecuador. Her current research includes population studies of the margay, a near-threatened neotropical cat, vocalizations in urban birds, escape behavior in lizards, and interactive vocalizations in mammals.

Erica Willie is a seasoned sales leader, engineer, and STEM advocate with a career spanning technology, education, and enterprise sales. She is the Founder of The ScienceSIS Education Foundation, dedicated to empowering young girls in STEM through initiatives like Galaxy Fest and Women in STEM programs. A North Carolina A&T State University graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Erica began her career as an engineer at IBM before earning a master’s in Educational Technology from San Jose State University. She has held leadership roles at HubSpot, ADP, Cisco, AT&T, and Paxcotech, closing multi-million-dollar deals and driving SaaS adoption. Passionate about mentorship and community, she is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. As a Ӱ COAS Advisory Board of Directors member, she continues her mission to advance education, workforce development, and STEM opportunities for young people.
