Operating Hours
Monday | CLOSED | Tuesday - Sunday | 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
All approved on-campus programming must conclude by 8:00 PM.
Please note that hours may vary during holidays or special maintenance. We kindly ask all guests to follow the posted pool rules for a safe and enjoyable experience.
The pool will close due to weather at the discretion of the Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness
River House Pool Capacity
The capacity of the pool complex should not exceed the numbers below.
- Pool Deck 11,000 sq ft
- 367 occupants
- Pool 5,000 sq ft
- Bather load: 100 occupants
- Covered patio 944 sq ft
- 63 occupants
Equipment Check Out
Students, faculty, and staff can check out pool equipment at the Pool Office. Items available for check out include: Pool floats, Spikeball, Volleyballs, Pickleball, Footballs, Soccer balls, Kan Jam, Cornhole and more!
A JU ID is required to borrow equipment.
A maximum of two items is allowed per student to borrow.
JAX RecWell staff will hold onto JU ID until equipment is returned to office.
Guest Policy & Day Pass
Access to the River House Pool is available to current ÐÓ°É (JU) students, staff, and faculty.
Non-JU guests may access the pool only when accompanied by a current JU student or employee and must purchase a $10 day pass.
Alumni and family members are not permitted to use the pool at this time without being accompanied by a current JU student or employee and the purchase of a $10 day pass.
All guests must adhere to pool rules and remain with their host during their visit.
Day passes can be purchased at the on-site Pool Office. Only credit cards are accepted for payment. No cash.
Programming & Special Event Guidelines
Reserving the Pool
Departments may request space at the pool for programming or events through 25Live (RH*POOL). After reserving the pool, the university scheduler will follow up with a confirmation email of your reservation. However, the pool will remain open to all students during regular hours of operation.
Student Organization Policy
All River House Pool programming should be scheduled ahead of time on 25Live. All 25Live reservations need to be placed at least 10 days in advance. After reserving the pool, the university scheduler will follow up with a confirmation email of your reservation. Alumni are NOT permitted to attend campus student programming pool events. Student events held at the River House Pool are for current JU affiliated individuals (with current JU ID card) only. Student Org events are for non-exclusive use of the facility only.
Special Events

All River House Pool team use requests should be scheduled ahead of time on 25Live. All 25Live reservations need to be placed at least 10 days in advance. While reservations do not require us to clear students from the pool, teams will utilize the lap lane specifically for the group’s use during their scheduled time. Bringing your team to the pool without a reservation does not guarantee space. Pool use is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Intramural Sports
Intramural sports may be hosted in the pool with prior approval and scheduling through Campus Recreation staff. All activities must align with pool safety guidelines and staffing availability. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, space must be reserved, and appropriate supervision must be in place. Unscheduled or drop-in intramural games are not permitted.
Fitness Classes
Fitness classes may be hosted in the pool with prior approval and scheduling through Campus Recreation staff. All classes must align with pool safety guidelines and staffing availability. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all students, the space must be reserved ahead of time. Unscheduled or drop-in fitness classes are not permitted.RecWell Speaker/Microphone
The microphone/speaker system is reserved solely for weather-related announcements when conditions move into the area. We don’t provide access to the pool’s internal speakers for events.Health & Safety Guidelines
Pool Hours
Pool hours should be clearly posted and enforced. Pools may close for maintenance or health-related reasons.
No Running/No Rough Play
Roughhousing, diving, or jumping inappropriately is prohibited to maintain safety.Alcohol & Drugs
Swimming under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. Those visibly intoxicated will be asked to leave.
First Aid/AED
A first-aid kit and AED will be available in the Pool Office if needed.
Infectious Diseases
Swimmers with open wounds, skin infections, diarrhea or contagious conditions should not enter the pool.Closing & Maintenance
Closing Hours
The pool will be closed for maintenance, cleaning, or repairs during specified hours and days. These times should be clearly communicated to visitors.Equipment Maintenance
All pool equipment should be in good working order, and any malfunctioning equipment should be reported immediately.
Summer Camps
The summer camp policies for the River House pool will remain the same as the current policies.
ÐÓ°É and JAX RecWell will not provide lifeguards. Camps may hire and provide their own lifeguards with approval from JAX RecWell.
Campers are encouraged to eat on the River House terraces.
Camps are not allowed to bring outside tables and chairs to the space.
2 adults per 15 campers is required for supervision at the River House Pool.
The JAX RecWell department will provide details about summer hours of operation.
